2004 Box Office Surprises
Was surfing around Box Office Mojo today looking at the returns for 2004 and found some stuff that surprised me.
- Meet the Fockers made $269M
- Ben Stiller-starring movies made nearly half-a-billion dollars (Meet the Fockers, Starsky and Hutch and Along Came Polly) Edit: How could I forget Dodgeball? With that one factored in, Ben Stiller movies made more than $600 million last year. Wow.
- Christmas with the Cranks, The Notebook, White Chicks and Along Came Polly all made more than Kill Bill Vol. 2 or Hellboy
- Without a Paddle made more than The Chronicles of Riddick
- All of the above movies made more than King Arthur
- Alexander only made $34M, less than You Got Served. Troy made four times as much.
- The Alamo only made $22M, less than Ella Enchanted
- Shaun of the Dead made more than De-Lovely
- I Heart Huckabees made less than Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights
- Kinsey and Superbabies: Baby Genuises 2 made the same amount of money
- Thunderbirds made a fat $6M
Nuts, man. Nuts.
