I am so p0wnz0red
I read this article at kur05hin – incidentally, the worst name for a site ever – this morning, and feel a little called out. Isn't there a place in the world for people who repurpose Internet memes in the real world, but repurpose them knowing that the joke is played out, making the played-out-edness the joke itself? No? Crap.
As someone who's said "All your base" and "I've been p0wned" in casual conversation – again, with full knowledge that I was beating a virtual dead horse – I apologize to all those who have sat, slack-jawed, at my insipidness. I never thought that I'd be linguistically tied with the kiddiez^W punks at Hot Topic, but I guess at my age that's kind of a compliment.
In my meager defense, I've never spoken the word "ROFL" (rhymes with "waffle") and, LOLCats willing, I won't start today.
Oh, and the blog is turned back on. Finally started drinking energy drinks again. w00t.
