Fortunately, I was never this dumb
Growing up, I had a trampoline (this in the days before those silly nets) and, while I often thought about sliding it next to the pool to see how high I could dive in, I was never stupid enough to actually try it.

Ry and Melissa at the Lookouts game
Ry watches the Lookouts give up another run. This occurrence was common.

Ry and Daddy on the new hammock
Melissa got me a hammock for our anniversary. Great gift on a perfect afternoon like this one. Ry likes the "swing."

Be afraid...
I was disappointed to learn that there is actually no engine in the Thomas shell. He's powered by a diesel at the rear of the train. This normally wouldn't matter, but considering the rivalry between the "steamies" and the diesels on the show, there's something troubling about Thomas not being capable of self-propulsion. Or perhaps I overthink it.

Major League Baseball is for suckers
So the green seats are the lower desk seats, the blue seats with backs are the upper deck seats and the bleachers are general admission. $8, $5 and $4. You've got to love minor league baseball.

Riley's first baseball game
We went to the Chattanooga (or, in Riley-speak, "Chuckanoova") Lookouts game on Friday night. Had a great time, though we only stayed for about half the game. When we left, the Lookouts were down five runs and the manager had been ejected. Ry did score a foul ball from one of the attendants at the game, but we had to take it away because he wanted to chew on it. I think the ball would win that fight.

Thygeson's Disease
I have been having intermittent eye problems over the past month or so and went back to my eye doctor, who is just amazing. My left eye has been blurry and uncomfortable, rather like a chlorine sting. She diagnosed me with something called Thygeson's Disease which, fortunately, is more irritating than threatening to my vision. I did some reading and, while it's not terribly common, it doesn't seem to have any long-term effects, though they say that it can recur over a year or more.
Doctors think it's caused by a virus, since it attracts white blood cells to the eye but doesn't respond to antibiotics (hence, it's not bacterial). I'm using Restasis for a week to see if that helps; otherwise I might have to use a steroid in the eye. Not a cure, but it alleviates the symptoms.
Here's some info I found:
